Hello Guys!

I'm new to racing and was thinking of coming to see you guys on Thursday for my first race with my newly built C4.1!!

Please would you be able to tell me what I'd need to bring/do before I can race?

I don't have a BRCA membership but I do have a transponder. Do you have mains and will I need to bring an extension cable or anything like chairs or tables?

Also don't have many spares and I'll be traveling up from Preston so if I crash first round I'll be happy to marshall for the rest of the evening

Thanks

Tommy

Edit: oh and what's this thing about tyres? I've got mini pins and the ones that came with the B4.1, are they ok?

I'm interested in coming along, but I don't have any foams or Dirt Hawgs and no chance to get them in time. Could I run a fairly worn set of dBoots Terrabytes 'B' compund (very soft)?

Super. I'll try and get there. Is it 6 p.m. open doors, or 6 p.m. racing?

Ok so I think I'm just about ready

A few people have offered to lend me some foams if I need them so already a warm and friendly start to my first race meeting

I've set the Centro up with 60wt oil all round and blue springs in the front and grey in the rear which I saw people had been doing for this track. Seems very stiff and the back end is very slippy now but I guess having never raced before I'll need to concentrate going round the track in one piece nice and slowly first

Looking forward to meeting people. See you soon

Tommy

Well that was a fantastic introduction to my first RC electric 2WD racing!

Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome and being so friendly.

I'd like to say a special thank you to the two Lee's. Lee number 1 lent me a pair of foam back wheels and generously offered to build me up some of my own. Lee number two was a star and I wouldn't have been able to race much at all as in my first warm up session at the beginning of the night I smashed into the wall and broke a wishbone, he also sorted me out with a nut for my shock tower and lent me some worn mini pins for my front wheels. I need to get me a big bag of spares me thinks

Thanks to Tony for filming, unfortunately my cam froze in the A final and so I though it would be better to marshall rather than film. But I'd like to do some more filming at later events if people are ok with that.

Thanks to Stu and John for organising and Ian for being friendly and giving me lots of tips.

All I need to do now is practise! I found my 6.5T motor too quick and turned my throttle dual rate down to 50 in the end. Hopefully with time and practice I can build it back up again.

So yeah, thanks again guys I've thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to do it again!!

Tommy
