Default 210 slipper clutch

I have just rebuilt my ball diff in my 210 and when I have rebuilt all the gearbox and slipper clutch something has gone wrong. I cant set up the slipper clutch correctly as it keeps slipping no mater how tight the slipper nut is, what could I have done wrong?

Have you made sure that pads on the underside that you can't see are seated properly? Had that problem myself before, if they are then are they worn out?

Favourite on the earlier V1's was a soft layshaft spacer that slowly got shorter over time and use or crushed by overtightening, you can put a spacer/washer between the layshaft bearing and inner slipper pad as a quick fix or buy the new hard aluminium spacer, I chose both. Are you sure it's the slipper not the diff?

The diff seemed tight enough couldn't move it while holding the sticky out bits lol but might have another look though

I always found the diff on my 210 difficult to adjust in the car after rebuilding it, like you say it would behave perfectly in my hand (no slipping when holding the outdrives) and then slip when installed in the car needing further adjustment.

You need to break it in on the bench and then drive it gently for a bit whilst adjusting it a little at a time, have a look here:

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...er-clutch.html

Once you've taken your time over this the diff will be excellent, I use tungsten carbide balls and a Schumacher U1954 thrust bearing (same size but much better quality than the TD thrust race) and the diff action is lovely

Also on the DEX210 the anodizing wears off the slipper plates and this can throw out your adjustment because the pads then get full of aluminium dust so change these and the pads if that's happened. Hope this helps
