Default Pull cord

Afternoon chaps and chapesses

Hope you've all had a fine day and got a bit of bashing in.

My pull cord snapped a few weeks ago and, in an attempt to save money (and be cheap!!) I bought a metre of cord from E-bay advertised as:

NEW SUPER STRENGTH Pull Start Cord for Nitro Engines.

This cost me £1.75 for the material and £0.99 for postage.

I've just had a hunt around and found that the cord is actually 1.5mm 3 kn throw line. Its about £13.50 + vat for 50 metres.

If its any good I'll buy a reel of it and, for an appropriate donation, anyone who has snappage can cut a length off when they need it.

Happy bashing

Phil

Phil, Bring some cord with you, I know that Baztech needs to repair/replace the starter on his Hyper.

Will do.

It will give everyone a chance to review the material and comment.

My only fear is that the existing cord has a measured breaking strain and replacing the cord may cause the failure of another part of the power train.

Thoughts?

Anybody who breaks a pull start simply by pulling it harder than the regular breaking strain is asking to cause damage anyway. If a pull start is stiff it usualy means the engine is flooded or something is jammed, so you should avoid turning the engine over until it has been examined.
