Default Question about ESC/Warranty

Hi Guys. My fusion ESC turned up this morning. I'm about to fit it to my Mad rat, but have a couple of questions.;
1- do I solder the wires from the ESC directly to the motor, or use some sort of connector?
2- the ESC has got a Tamiya connector pre-soldered to it. Will I void my warranty if I remove this and put a decent Traxxas connector on it?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Directly, unless you plan on changing motors in a hurry.
No, go for it, I put Corrallys on all my ESC's.
