Default Missed Kyosho Lazer TOP Shaft!

Guys,
I am so Mad at My Self. I just missed an auction for a Kyosho Lazer Top Shaft on Ebay Auction#160445081487. Look at the Top RIght Corner, and its the Peak Performance Top Shaft. Is there anything compatible? The whole lot sold for 10 Dollars!.I know I cant win them all. Any suggestions? Anything compatible?
Thank you

Default Suspension Shaft

Hi Guys,

I am trying to rebuild my Lazer ZX-R, but i've hit a bit of a problem. The shafts that holds the front wishbones to the car (Part # LA-20) have bent badly.

I can't find any replacements and i'm wondering what everyone here does? Do you all just have spare packs of LA-20's or are there spares from other models that will fit and will be easilly available?

Regards, Nick

Trial and error. I would buy ones for the zx5 or the 2wd and see which is closest. If too long just cut down to size.

Whats wrong in locating the shaft that came with the kit as they work perfectly well.

Nick, goto your local hobby store and take one with you and they should sell steel bars approx 1 metre in length, approx £1.20 a metre buy one that is the approx diameter and cut to size, that's what I did as the only place I could find selling the originals was in the states...

Hi,

Thanks for all the advise. I checked out all the manuals for current 1/10 models from Kyosho website, the Lazer and Ultima shafts are too short, however i have found that the DBX/DRX rear shafts are 3mmx56mm so can be cut down to 50mm for Lazer ZX-R.

However, i ended up buying metal rod. Unfortunately there are NO model shops where i live (Jersey Channel Islands) and as such only had B&Q, smallest rod they do was 4mm Dia, but god bless eBay! Three 3mmx30mm stainless shafts for £2.50, bargain!

Anyway cutting a long story short, 3mm Stainless rod from ebay works a treat, just dremmel to 50mm lengths.

Hope this helps someone else having the same problems. Once again, thanks everyone for your contribution, much appreciated.

I'll post some pics of the rebuild, hopefully this week, i'm so pleased with it, it was a great car, and will be again

Default glad you got it sorted

glad you got it sorted, i would have sent you some out if you couldnt get any, i cut loads from 1 rod, also i got a rod 1mm-2mm smaller in circumference so they are not as tight a fit as the originals...

Im kindof confused. Does your zx have the standard layshaft with 100t spur gear with alloy balls all around as if yes its most probably the best slipper you can have for the lazer

Not worth it. Fibrelyte do an exact copy at a fraction of the cost and is a lot stronger than the kyosho version. You most probably can still buy the original through kyosho in your country for a third less as japan does keep stock of stuff like that.

Guys this will not work with any Lazer modwls except the ZXS. The ebay seller was misinformed.

Yes this was made but prefer my own design. The brace goes under the chassis which put me off. Still kyosho may still have stock for a lot less.
