Default New to 1/8 RallyX

Hi,
I’m new to this and have just bought my first car(mugen).
I have to by the usual stuff(engine+muffler, servos, battery, trans+receiver, starter bla bla bla).
I’m not rolling in cash but I’d rather buy an engine and servos that will get me around at a decent pace but not one that will destroy me.
I was looking at a Alpha plus engine and muffler and a couple of servos preferably waterproof as I’ll be in all weather.
Any recommendations for decent price newbie equipment.
Also if the track is very damp would you need waterproof electrical equipment.

Andy

Default 1/8th set up

Have a look at the maxbashing forum it’s more specific to nitro , when I was racing reliability is the key ,water proof your rx by putting it in a couple of balloons and seal the radio tray with some silicon ,I have all ways used savox with no issues and as for engines start with a budget one as it will be a learning curve as you will need to run it in and tune it ,you get this wrong and you can ruin your engine before you even race ,as you get more into the nitro you will want runtime so 10minutes per tank is what you will want ! My advice I’d find a local track go to a club meeting and get some advice trackside good luck
