Hi Mark,

You are right so far but:

Remove the top pin TO4032

Now put on the slipper plate TO4020

Now put the top pin back in TO4032

Now put on the centre bearing insert assembly TO2177 & TO2099

Add a tiny amount of thread lock to the two TO2082 screws to hold everything together.

Hope that helps.

Your spur gear is upside down.... Unless I am looking at it the wrong way. Should be a pin slot in the spur gear for the pin that is close to the spur gear.

The pin slot goes on the same side as the out drive and the slipper adjusting nut. So as you build it the way the instructions show the slot is at the bottom. You have to push the spur gear down against the spring to slide the pin into place.

So that pin is supposed to be touching the back of the spur gear? the slipper nut is backed off all the way.

the whole assembly is standing on the outdrive in the pic.

I may try doing it upside down with the outdrive and spur gear slot facing up, just to see how it assembles.

Yeah but the pin won't touch the spur once everything is tightened up

Just had a good night at telstar with the tm2. First time on carpet and qualified B1 and finished 1st - on a set of 4 week old mini pin tyres. Very pleased with the car so far; it is just so easy to be consistent.

here's how I have it now:

what have I done wrong?
so here is a fast fix for the original slipper...
I raced it the hole 3 days and it is still fine in both cars TM2 and T4 .

to prevent that your spur is not turning round and to make it last longer you need to do 2 adjustments:

1. install a bearing in the middle of the spurgear, the small one from the balldiff is a perfect fit.
2. install 0,4mm of shims under the last pin to avoid that the spur can be pushed against a pin when the slipper is tight.

sellunderstanding is that the slipper is build like in the manual... so pay attention so not flippe the spurgear.. the pinslot must be faced down.

see the attached foto and I think it will be easy to understand and is a fast fix
also we found that the black spur gears last alot longer then the white ones

EuroRC has a healthy amount of TeamC spares. Also consider buying the original black one, Finnish Team drivers have found it more durable as it will last even if you lose one teeth or two, but the kevlar one will just strip.

Have just done toms spur gear mod and it works a treat, the bearing just slides in with no drilling etc required, and gives some extra support plus truer running of the spur.

I can't see why that new shell has still got a "cut-in" at the back (like the old TC02C shell) when our TMs chassis is square almost to the rear wheels

The DB1 is a better fit at the back because of this.
