A few of the parts are backward compatible, but I personally don't think it would be worth buying a whole SV just for the spares. I have both an SV and an SV2, my plan is to sell my SV when I get the SV2 up and running. The only parts I have broke on my SV are hub carriers( since replaced with the alloy ones), front bulkhead, front shock tower and rear shock tower. The car has been pretty bullit proof. I am only a novice driver so it has taken some stick. I will be buying the above mentioned parts as spares for my SV2. Hope this helps.

Although similar, and able to fit both cars there are minor changes / improvements to the front and rear shock towers, steering arms, front bulkhead etc.

All in all I wouldn't buy one for spares either
