I use carbon chassis, battery brace, top plates and front and rear shock towers from Germany. I also use a brass chassis weight under the cells at 80g with a small servo to help balance out the weight.

Hi Steve

Can I ask what carbon fibre chasis you are using? I would like to replace the chasis on my Blast with something.

Are there any other chasis that fit? I have found a 3racing one for ZX5, but not sure if this would fit?

Steve

Hi Steve

The chassis and battery retainer are from Fibre Lite in the top post, other parts from Germany as no one seems to have them in the UK when you go through their website, the distributor seems to not have the parts. Had the chassis made without the cell slots as I use lipos - cost about £55 with express courier. Takes about 1 week from start to finish, will get some photos uploaded asap.
Chassis is definitely more rigid with all the carbon bits.

I know the FTX Vantage, distributed by CML, sells a number or carbon and alloy hop-ups. I believe the two chassis, Vantage and Blast, are largely identical?

The only issue I've had with the chassis is cell retention as the flat chassis has no ridges to hold the cells sideways along the propshaft. A little non slip mat under the cell and velcro under battery bar has worked fine so far.

I had the same problem with my original BJ4 - same cell layout. taping the lipo to the battery strap did the trick.
