Default Storing LiPo's in the house

I have been storing my LiPo's in a metal tool box out on the back porch, but it gets mighty hot out there during the summer months. I'm reading here that heat is detrimental to LiPo's, and I'm considering bringing them indoors where it's air conditioned. The LiPo's would be at a "stored" voltage, and in a metal box. Would this be a safe thing to do ?
