I was just looking at coming to this then noticed it clashes with the first round of the 10th off road national series

Damn that's a shame Jimmy - we had little to no control over the date as we were at the mercy of the centre's management and schedule.

I'll take some photo's for you!

We're hoping to make it an annual race.

Hi Rob, yes it's brand new - a very smart complex.

The track will be built in the atrium of the centre, down the escalators from the Jury's Inn hotel and cineworld cinema/numerous eating establishments which is at the opposite end from Boots I believe.

You can see the area for the track on the ground floor here, recognise it?:

Here's a pic of the area from the street through the glass doors:

I read about this on rcracechat a while ago. It looks like a fantastic opertunity to give the sport some great publicity.

Reedy Race style might look better for the crowds as it's all racing so easier to understand than staggered qual runs.

Entries filling up fast.

Show off to the public on a busy shopping weekend, give the sport some fantastic publicity (we'll also have a stand with other vehicle classes on display), go shopping, eat, drink, be merry and stay in a nice hotel at trackside.....what could be better!

The organisers originally limited the total entry of this event to 90 racers, this consisted of 60 scale saloon and 30 1/12th scale. Due to popular demand and scale saloon showing itself as being the more popular class, the numbers are now being rebalanced to 70 scale saloon spaces and 20 1/12th scale spaces. Please do not delay in entering this event as it is now nearly at capacity.

Sorry all for not updating oOple!

This event was immense, it surpassed all our expectations, from the atmosphere of being in a shopping centre and how surreal it was setting up late at night, to the stig driving round the track, to the 2 cages of pizza hut pizza's delivered to the drivers, the crystal trophies, the watches as prizes - I could go on and on, it will be hard for me to ever top this!

Some pics:

We were inundated with questions about our hobby and had around 10,000+ spectators over the weekend.
