Are you gonna suggest to have one there? I dont think the argument about it being indoors is valid, tiverton used to have an indoors regionals, and it would help promote interest in the club.

The problem we have is that they want to conform to BRCA rules this year and our track isn't compliant. The straight has to be a minimum of 20m and there has to be a track width of more than 2.4m all around the track. As we do not meet these minimum requirements we decided not to apply.

How can they conform to BRCA rules but not have any scruiteneering or tyre listings

I don't think there is any need to worry.

The regional reps will be doing the best they can within the BRCA guidelines to make the SW regionals be as successful a series as possible, with whatever rules they decide are practical and appropriate.

I'm sure there is some flexibility built in to the BRCA to allow each region to make the best decisions it can about how there meetings are run to best suit the clubs and region.

As soon as there is some solid information about the series I'm sure they'll let us know.

I personally think that Rob & Alan have made a tough but good decision here.

Regionals should ideally be run with 10 car heats, or at the very least 10 car finals, as that is a fundamental part of the race rules. 10 car races in the space that's available at Yatton might not be ideal. I have nothing against Yatton here, but being realistic IMO it'd be too tight.

Not good to see a club decide it's not able to apply, but at least it's not hosting an event that is likely to create negative feedback that can damage the clubs growing reputation!
