Default Flexible weight distribution chassis for the B4/B4.1

The spark for this project was given a couple of months ago when a fellow racer snapped his original B4FT chassis as a way to make sure that he wouldn't have to go through the stripping down of his car within a Sunday morning long event due to chassis breakage
I thought that we could add some tuning aids in the process through a flexible weight distribution chassis . He is mostly racing dusty outdoors tracks with the occasional carpet event every 3 months apx. and wanted to stick with rear motor set ups for the time being.
With this design he will be able to change from the Durango B3/B4 conversion style "saddle packs all the way pushed against the servo" to an intermediate T-style arrangement and back to the classic inline set-up all in seconds

One thing I forgot to mention is that we incorporated the +8mm wheelbase that now seems to be standard for B4/B4.1 cars in this design

Talking

Shy I know what you mean hehe the sidepods are beefy but they seem to make sense mounted on the car

The main idea in this project was to provide was to do away with most of the extra parts and standoffs .The conversion as it stands now is comprised of:

-the chassis-3mm

-a separate alloy kick up plate

-the 2 sidepods

-2 alloy standoffs to mount the B4/4.1 front ends

and the battery braces

Pretty simple and straightforward

Fotko - thank you for the interest.I will keep you informed.Anyone else interested just let me know

The chassis ,kick up plate and stand offs in almost identical form have worked flawlessly during the testing of B4 based prototypes over the last 3 years.
Though the gut feeling of everyone tells that the sidepods will do just fine I want to see them tested to be 100% sure and also get a feeling of how the T-based battery set up behaves.
My friend who initiated the project got his yesterday so we will get an idea of how it goes in the hands of the clubman racer soon. I also sent another sample to someone who is registered for the Petit event this January in case he wishes to use it in the event

Default Update

Hello to everyone,

I just stopped by to let you know that I have 2 chassis kits for sale. The agreement with a subcontractor for the sidepods unfortunately did not materialize so I had to machine them myself - price is 75 euros for the kit

Thank you for your interest and patience
