It is the slipper that is sending heat into the gearbox and making the plastic soft. Change the slipper pads to a different type and you will not have any issues. I have tried the AE, Yokomo and the Losi and they are all fine. With the AE and Yok you have to change the spur gear also but with the Losi one you just glue it onto the AR spur. I am also trying different types in the X4 too but I have not yet finished so I will let you know. Thanks Stu Last edited by woOdy; 16-07-2011 at 04:46 PM. |

Which losi pads are you using? Xxx cr or 22? How are you glueing it? I'm thinking a small amount of contact adhesive rather than super glue.

I've tried the AE slipper/spur combo (with the AR slipper plates) and find that the slipper plates rub on raised part that retains the slipper pads!

As far as I know, the 22 and XXX-CR spurs are the same...so you can run them. I run the XXX-CR spur with pads and Losi spring in my X2TE and it works very good. You just have to grind out the hole of the Losi spur a little bit to make it fit.
But it doesn´t solve the problem with the idler gear... |

I agree,The idler can only be better with the uprated ansmann idlers!
after reading this I did run the slipper a lot tighter as I had no other slippers etc to run,and it worked ,idler lasted for the couple of runs I gave it today, Even won one leg of the regional A. But mostly ran my 22 as I still have little fathe in the idlers, and didn't want to risk a DNF Parcel update....left HK 14th within about 3hrs of posting! arrived heathrow 15thcentral hub 15th,,,and sat in central hub ever since, think it will arrive about 2pm tmro ish,

I am in South Africa. I have purchased in excess of $350 worth of parts from TCModels in 5 seperate packages.
All purchases was made on Sunday evening (my time) and the packages arrived (all of them) on Thursday at my PO, and I am not in one of the larger centres. These guys are good! |
