Question What Do I Need For My First Kit

Hi everyone i am new at this whole RC stuff, i have a mad rat, it broke and i fixed it. But now i'm wanting to build a car.
I'm buying the Blackfoot X-treme kit which comes with the motor and ESC.

At the moment i know i need the RC System, however is this just the Transmitter and Receiver or do i need the Servos as well.

Also is there anything else i should be getting for example shock oil

Thanks For The Information/Help in Advance

if you have a mad rat already, take your servo and receiver out of that and use it in the blackfoot.

if you dont want to do that, just buy another receiver and servo for the blackfoot, then you can just swap the crystal from one receiver to the next and adjust your transmitter to suit both models, assuming that your transmitter doesn't have a model memory function.

either something cheap (with a servo saver on it) so you can replace it often when the gears break with the feedback from the front wheels, or something a little more expensive with metal gears in it - look at the savox metal geared servos.

it's more about what you can afford to be honest.

For twenty quid that's really good value. Core / Electrix do ones for the same money but they're not any bettered spec'd so I'd go with that one.

Have you sort Motor / ESC yet ?

unfortunatly im buying a touring car kit for me to build for my girlfriend so ive put the monster truck off for a while, however i was only going to get a brushed ESC for the monster truck, up to 10T motor, its for £20
