My first car was a 1984 Honda Accord EX. It was given to me when I passed my test, I still have it, and I still drive it, it's my only car. 66,000 miles on the clock, and its as smooth as you like. I still have the original sales ticket too!

I had a 1000cc Mini, 1989 Racing Flame Red. I kept it standard and owned it for 2 years, suprised it survived as I didn't half abuse it! sold it for a 1.3i Mini which I wrote off in 3 weeks. The first Mini I had is still on the road, and is now highly modified, as Mini's should be - BL cut sooo many corners!

Im now on my 5th classic Mini, and collecting a BMW Mini tomorrow!

Auto in a Mini is not my cup-of-tea. But I love Mini's and that one looks ace. Looks to have been loved, but suspension seems to be sitting standard. Get som hi-lows on it (rear only usually all they need), negative camber 1.5° front arms, adjustable camber and toe rear brackets and Group A tie rods... then polybush any bushing you can get to - transforms the handling.

Nice move on the mini, make sure you do the full driving test and get a license for driving a manual car.

Mine was a red mk3 escort 4door. Drove it on and off illegally for about 3 month, then, one week after I passed my test it got wrote off when some old gitt threw his renault 18 estate at it from behind...pushing the rear bumper into the back seat.

....he dropped his cassette on the floor and so bent down into the footwell to pick it up....whilst approaching a dangerous junction down hill in a 60 limit!

Mine was a 1996 306 D-Turbo in Miami Blue (5-Dr).... I absolutely loved it to start with, and actually it's just reminded me of a funny drive i had.....

I was 17 and I'd just passed my test and had to drive up to Stafford to do a Touring car race as the TC3 had not long come out, i was staying at Mr Dreschers house so had the trek back to his on the Saturday night having done some practise.

Dave Duggan was coming along too so i had to follow Craig in his 306 Cabriolet, and Dave in his slightly newer 306 D-Turbo, so there's 3 of us all in 306's - me having passed my test 1 week before......

Not sure if many of you know how Craig used to drive, but to say it was hard to keep up would be an understatment, Craig and Dave were literally flat out the whole way, over-taking cars here there and everywhere trying to out-do eachother so there's me desperately trying to keep up (as i didn't even know where i was going)!

It was fun though, and i made it safely in one piece amazingly, they were nutters and i think i gripped the steering wheel pretty tight all the way

Nice, looks like it's in good condition, I can't see any rust around the a panels or scuttle which is a very rare option on mini's.

You can't beat mini lights on a mini. Just make sure your insurance company knows about them.

Try Footman James for insurance, they'll cover me for £100 fully comp with unlimited miles. I am old though
