Weight in Bmax2mr

So what's everyone doing for weight in the mid motor bmax2?

How much and where in the car?

Pretty much all the other mid motor cars I've ever driven all need a load of weight under servo/esc, and some under the battery as well...the few setups I've found so far are very vague on this.

Mine is getting it's first outing on Friday at Calidcot, looking forward to it

So far ive got a brass plate under the lipo, im running a shorty across the back, think its a 64g plate but cant remember! And then ive got 20g up front stuck to the front kick up area...

And... Im waiting on a bulkhead from Cream to play around with

10g on servo 10g in front of servo and 25g in the front of the car works for me but the biggest improvement for me was to put orange losi front springs on it and take the washers out from under the in side ball stud on the front

i am thinking about switching vom durango to yokomo

the only thing, i dont like on this car is they way the wiring goes
i see people balancing their cars with weights very carefully.

but then i see so much heavy wires just on one side on the bmax2 mr.
wouldn´t this be a issue?

Thanks for the replies...not huge amounts to go on, so going for 55g under saddles, plus 30g under servo, plus jamming 5g under the front bumper for what it's worth.

Will play with more in the nose during the night on Friday.

Griff...no pics as yet...will get some up as soon as I get chance...lovely build though...and little bro has done a fab job of the shell too

And no nationals this year. Too much to do with getting WORM going this summer and Caldicot as ever, so sticking to SW regionals, and maybe try and get out to something bigger once or twice over the summer if I can. Will miss the camping and weekend racing otherwise!

Will def go back to nats when I can though

More weight and less tyre on the front is the way to go I recon. Needs to be as far forward as you can get it, plus a plate under the Lipos.

At Torquay I ran, shorty lipo's (rear position) 79g brass weight under lipo but no other weight in it

I have ran the yokomo at telford and broxtowe i only run 62g under lipo and no other weight.

I Have 55g under lipos and 20g up front. I tried more weight up front (25g on top of servo) yesterday as it wasnt jumping on the big jumps at cov properly (nose high) but its too pointy and the rear wants to step out so i have taken it back off and will play with the rear wing more instead

I have only ran mine indoors at Torquay and Silverstone so far,going to get some outdoor set ups in the next week or 2 before Tiverton,i have been running shorty lipos aswell, going to try saddles outdoors

I have ran the yokomo at telford (astro high grip) and broxtowe (astro with small jumps and camber changes both excellent tracks, going back to telford this Sunday and broxtowe next Sunday to do more testing will let you know what i have changed and the results.

So first run out with the Bmax2mr...

TQ and 2nd in the A (Only 2nd thanks to our resident "yoda" running in the final having not raced 2wd all night, and then apparently getting a blinding start from the back of the grid )

Made a fair few geometry changes as the night went on and grip levels changed, car felt pretty well balanced all night, but feeling really good by the final where 20 of my 23 laps in the 6 min final were all in the 15's...really chuffed!

For weight, I ended up with 65g spread around the front, and about 70g under the saddle lipo. Track was a mix of carpet and very slippery polished floor...whole car lacked grip on the polish (suspect that was the case for all the cars though!), but was balanced and controllable on it by the end.

Setups from Caldicot usually translate very well onto outdoors/astro, so looking forward to trying it at worm on full astro as soon as I can now

I hardly need any weight when I changed to RM, only 15g up the nose of buggy

for me it make no sense that people feel the difference, if they put 20 gramms here and tehere, but feel no difference about the heavy esc/motor wires in the side or middle of the car.

if they feel here no difference, it´s dubious if they realy feel the difference about 15 gramms weight in front or side of the car.

Maybe it is due to the fact that the wires are going along the length of the chassis and are not just located in one spot like lead weights. TBH I never tried playing around with different ways of routing wires, but on the other hand I haven't owned a mid motor 2WD car before.
Wires on my car are routed along the ride side similarly to the pictures above, as I think the car should be more predictable with the wires held in place by the battery brace instead of being able of swinging around.

So...just weighed 3 motor wires and a sensor wire...24g!

My thoughts here, that's not a huge amount of weight, and when in your car it's located around the batteries...which are a much more significant weight within the car and very close to the CoG. I'm not sure that 24g sideways is doing very much to upset things as it's pretty close to the CoG...but it will surely have an effect, probably just not very much.

Weights in the nose are a long way from the CoG, so would have a much more significant effect on the balance and handling.
