So it seems I'm OK with 2011 kit as long as I don't drive it like a knob and hit it all the time

Just keep the simple things in my box, just in case.

many cougar drivers on here have suggested the +8mm chassis upgrade makes the car much easier to drive so thats definitely something to consider.

The cougar SV pro comes with servo spacers which you can fit, but they aren't required. depends on the servo.
try it with and without and see which fit feels right

Yes, I have noticed I din't need the spacers to fit my Savox, it all seems very nice and smooth down there I also fitted a metal arm, so that's OK.

I'll look at the long chassis, see how it goes for me on Friday and over the coming weeks. We have a fantastic Cougar driver at our club, and I'm hoping he will help me out with the set-up. If he says it needs the long chassis for our club, then I'll buy one

i run a lowprofile savox with tamiya servo saver.. all fits nice
