Cat K1, Big Bore or Small Bore...
Guys, I broken the stock shock shaft 2 days a go, and I wonder if I should up grade to Big Bore.
I like how the car is so reactive to the steer, and wonder if the big bore will take the characteristic away. THX! |

Yup big bores make it less reactive

The shock setup is up to the user. Simply going to big bores isnt going to do that. You'll just have to experiment with the oil/pistons to get your feel. We've won with both shocks

I've broke 2 shock shafts now so also wondering if the big bore shafts are stronger.

you can fit big bore shafts in to small bore shocks but it does require the small bore pistons drilled out

The big bore shock shafts are slightly wider than the narrow bores.

Where on the shaft does it snap, or try not doing what you are doing to snap them.
the shaft is snapping as it is the weakest part in the suspension set up, have you fitted alloy any where in the suspension? |

The big bore shafts are larger diameter. The shock shafts break frequently on the K1 because they are the first thing to impact whatever it is your hitting.... They can break with aluminum suspension pieces or not. They always break where the threads start. Going to big bores isnt a guarantee but they are more durable
