Default Sv2 wide camber link turnbuckles???

Hi lads,

I'm wanting to calm the mid to exit steering on my sv2 so have bought the set with the optional wide camber link plates to be able to use a short front link to cure the mid to exit oversteer.
I asked about which turnbuckles i would need on another thread on here as the standard ones are too long to be used with the wider plates. I was sent a link of which turnbuckles i needed and now they have arrived I've realised that they are the same length as the stock 53mm ones.

Can anybody tell me what to use? I've asked the advice of Schumacher team drivers and they don't seem to be able to give me an answer.

I've spent over £100 on upgrades and spares for the car and I'm getting so frustrated with ordering the wrong items, my svr wishbones arrived containing two right hand arms!

Sorry for the rant but I'm getting so frustrated.

Please help!!

Chris

Default Shorter turnbuckles

Hi Chris - not sure if this helps you but if you go onto the Schumacher website and type "turnbuckle" into the search option box it will bring up a page of turnbuckles. http://www.racing-cars.com/search.asp
There is a wide choice of turnbuckles between 35mm to 60mm in either titanium Purple or mild steel Gold.
Looking at the sequence of SV2 Gold turnbuckle part numbers then these are possible options U3210 - 35mm: U3211 - 39mm: U3212 - 45mm.
Optional titanium turnbuckle choices are U1572 - 39mm but not sure about U2566 - 45mm.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that Lance I will take a look and hopefully can get it up and running soon.

Mark, the rear end does break away at speed around sweeping corners making for a very pointy car on very high grip indoor astro. I've put the issues down to having such a long front link causing too much bite in the corner and not using anywhere near enough rear camber.

Chris, hopefully I will have it sorted by then but if not i will be meithering you! Ha!

I had the same problem

I sorted it by getting some 1 7/8" turnbuckles. DMS stock them.

Hope this helps

Dms also list 35mm Schumacher turnbuckles also that are just under 2cm from the standard 53mm ones...reckon these will do the trick?

I bought the Lunsford ones.

Absolutely perfect when using the wide camber link

The 35mm turnbuckles will be way too short

1 7/8" is definately the way to go
