Since York, as I'm sure many clubs do, run under the BRCA insurance they cannot allow Lipo until BRCA approve them in that class. Otherwise if an lipo related incident should happen, whether it be by a battery failure itself OR a lipo powered car who would be liable if the insurance won't pay out?
untrue
you can run anything and its covered by brca general rules. clubs may choose to follow BRCA rules to the full, but they are NOT forced to. if lipo or nimh caused damage to car or property then its not a brca insurance claim any way.

it is the committee`s decision i think its fairly simple too its not like its a big grey area and its not like you can mix them up, one requires a sack to be charged the other requires a bunker.

Northy has lipo cells he is itching to use, as i am but i can accept the current rules of any club its really not that difficult boys
unless you only have lipo!!!!!!

Anyway - as I said in another post - don't shoot the messenger, I am only relaying what was said at the committee meeting.

BRCA insurance

Only cover a 3rd party while you are using your car. Be this racing or on the street.

You are not covered for anything else, nothing while charging, spannering etc.

I think the reason a lot of clubs have not gone lipo is because the brca haven`t (Offroad section)

Clubs wont want to be seen moving away from the rules and encouraging people to buy stuff that may never become legal.

*this is not my opinion its just a random train of thought*

The committee say no but people still use them is this normal?

Sorry Jimmy, missed that one.

It is because some of the committee are not comfortable with their use. Also Lee's reply is a good one, if people go all lipo, and they are not allowed next year at regional or national level, why is that the BRCA's fault? People bought the stuff knowing it might not be legal. You can't assume you can use anything. It's the same as people buying cells not on the approved lists.

Just so people know, I AM NOT ANTI LIPO, I have some that I would like to use, but I tend to play by the rules

New decision guys, the committee have discussed the whole lipo thing and are willing to allow the use of lipo on a club night, but not on the club championship nights - as these are run to BRCA rules.

Please charge as per the BRCA reccomendations for lipo.

Glad it's all sorted out.

Thanks,

G

No pm for you, I'm busy!

You can still dice with death on a championship night and at the indoor regionals

Will the regionals not also be affected by the outcome of the BRCA AGM?
