Wow, comprehensive, cheers mole! Appreciate the effort you spent on that post. Have been reading around and basically doing lots of trial and error adjustments until it looks okay, learning as I go. Then again, on my dodgy monitor what looks fine here could look poo elsewhere Will give some of your tips a whirl, including the local contrast enhancement step.

i recently went to a VSCC [vintage sports car club] meeting at Oulton Park and took a few pics. they r nothing special, but i was quite pleased with them because they were my first racing pics.
they of of the 1929 24 litre Napier Bentley [vintage bentley with a 24 litre napier lion W12 plane engine in}, its a monster, nd makes a great noise too |

the first lap of the hawthorn memorial race was eventive with a huge crash by Duncan Pittaway in an old GN vitesse. he was a very lucky guy as you can see from these photos..... [the full crash sequence again, not taken by me as i forgot my camera]
luckily he got out with just a broken collar bone and concussion

Again, there's some really cracking stuff going up on here. Who'd have thought we all do more than play with toy cars
@Telboy - you don't have to go far to take some pictures, it's how you look at the things around you. Whilst in Monaco and Nice it's a bit easier: You can also try to make something out of the mundane stuff at the end of the street: |
