Water Proofing Electrics?

Hi need a little advice

Looking to run a buggy finally this winter but need a little advice on what seems to be the best stuff to use for waterproofing?

I don't run anything, however if you do want to waterproof your speedo/receiver then I would recommed Lazy Goo. They may be a competitor of mine but it's top stuff.

They also do a spray on electrical tape that might be good?

I've never had any experience withthe products you've linked to, so I can't really comment.

I'm sure other people use other stuff other than the rc lazy stuff so I'm sure you'll get some othe recommendations/advice.

The lazy goo peels off leaving no residue. No need to use anything else !

Esc and receiver a simple ballon with a tie wrap will do the job. I raced 12 years in Wales on tracks where there was roughly an inch of standing water When it rained and i never had a glitch. Works well.

Never used anything, but a lot of the lads on RCR use Plastidip with good results.
Also heard lots of good reports about Lazy Goo.

When I used to run TC's my wet car had a receiver that had been given the MRT treatment which was also great - albeit a little more expensive. This was certainly more of a permanent solution and meant that you only needed to worry about the wires themselves when the inevitable British weather happened.

Std Plastidip in a tin peels off leaving zero residue.
From the times i have seen lazygoo i would guess its the same formula as Plastidip just in smaller quantities. Sure someone will be along shortly to correct me though!

The advantage of having a tin of plastidip is you can wire up you electronics and just submerge them in the plastidip making a really nice waterproof seal. If you have a tekin Rs/Rs Pro you can still operate the buttons !

I've never had a problem using just plastidip on my electrics and that includes running my touring car at the Cotswold national this year in torrential rain all day.

I also have a friend who uses plastidip in his wet touring car and his runs submerged in the bath !!
