It's an interesting exercise I'm sure. But I've got to ask, in this country on our typically high grip tracks...why bother?

just out of interest really. Im sure schumacher will sell loads of these as the rest of the world all race on dirt, only a minority of us rc racers get to race on astro. For some reason, i also like to race a rear motored buggy. I know its not the fastest on high grip, but something is appealing about the smoothness needed to get it around a track quickly.
I suppose it will be seen first at the oople invernational for most people.

This is interesting.

I thought Schumacher has always stand by their belief in only mid-motor cars and that they will make it work on any possible tracks, dirt or not. We've seen the dirt-spec tuning options for SV and the SV2.

from what i was told this would be a complete car not a conversion/dual purpose car. with the aim at the countries that run on dirt/none astro etc.

why not have the best layout for both, and not just a compromise?

eg C4.1 B4.1, SV2 SVR.

I've been running a rear motor sv for a few months here in Canada, and have found a couple of things. (my creation not the shumacher prototype) A rear motor 2wd doesn't unload the rear wheels under braking, giving you a chance to brake later into a turn instead of slowing into a turn. The SV2 is ecxellent at forward traction but because the saddles are so far back once you loose the rear in a turn it really swings out. This pendelum effect is more evident in switch back turns.

I run a shorty lipo down the center of my car and have Trishbits servo and bulkhead weights installed. I am a better than average racer and have had the fastest lap at a few races, besting some better drivers.

I find the SV2 to have the best steering and material quality on the martket. Add the best steering geometry to rear motor traction and you might just have the most potent 2wd around.

Is the SV2 good in the dirt and astro, yes. Will the SVR be better in the dirt, absolutly, but don't count it out for astro either.
