Not as many as i thought but enough to make it a good days racing

Come on shortcourse guys this event was put on to just for you to see some real bumper to bumper racing !!

Remember we are indoors so no matter what the weather we will be racing

Get yourself booked in Arenax.co.uk pay on the day

It is so much easier for us if you actually book in before hand and not on the day makes it run alot smoother

Look forward to seeing you all there

Ben

Now that would just ruin the surprise!

If i said we have sprinkled some magic growing dust on the wall ride then that would give you a clue to one of the new features

Doors open at 7am and Racing starts at 10am so there is plenty of open track time to get your trucks dialled in and used to the track.

So 3 hours of open practice time, 5 rounds of qualifying and depending on driver numbers/vote we could run extra finals or a reverse grid race of champions with top 3 from each final at the end?

Now you can't beat that amount of track time for £7

Trophies are made and look very special, massive thanks to Wes at JollyGoodz for using his awesome skills to create them

plus there are some specially donated goodies from the meeting sponsors in the raffle as with all our SCT Carnage meetings.

A1 Hobbies Ltd will be there with lots of SCT spares and goodies, noticed a big box of dBoots Nanobyte SCT tyres have been delivered and they work a treat on our track.

Can't wait to see the trucks battling it out

You can book in on the day, however to help us with meeting timings and to organise Trophies, marshal cover etc etc it is encouraged to book in asap which is why we have online booking set up!

There is at least a full heat of 4wd's so far but I don't have access to the booking in info.

It will be a brilliant days racing and you have to be in it to win it as they say!

We'll be getting videos and plenty of pics to show the r/c world how much fun the UK SCT racing is.

Any chance of taking advantage of the good weather and taking it onto the outdoor track?

That is a definite firm no i'm afraid, can see the point and it would be a nice idea but its far too late in the day to move venue...

bearing in mind the many voluntary hours and cost that has already gone into the indoor venue to hold this meeting, our relationship with the owner of our indoor venue having a booking pulled less than 24hrs before the meeting and the fact that it will take more than the time we now have left to prepare a track at the outdoor venue to hold a meeting there...

plus the outdoor venue still needs a couple of weeks of reasonable drying time so the car park and grounds are not damaged through heavy use.

Oh yeah and i need to repair the generator before we run any outdoor meetings and i'm 60 miles away getting my truck prepped too

Thats without getting word out to everyone that the meeting is moved and that racers (including myself) will have invested in tyres and set up time for an indoor meeting.

There will be plenty of outdoor SCT action to come at A1 Racing Club this year... heard a rumour of a possible SCT endurance team meeting?.... maybe a SCT Carnage 2012 when it's warmer and dryer too?

Racers either don't notice/understand or simply forget the voluntary work that goes into running meetings and building tracks, hence the essay

Anyway Dad... you can have your dead tyres back tomorrow that i've found in my pit box ... you are funny... in the head!

Don't forget the clocks go forward tonight too

I'm hoping to be there at 6am (5am normally, ouch!) to do the finishing touches, so i'll make sure the water heater is boiling for the early birds needing caffiene

If the weather delivers then it'll be a great meeting like the last Arena X was, catching some sun outside between the heats!

Bring it on, going to be some great fun truck racing

Thanks to everyone that came to SCT Carnage 2.5 yesterday,

was a fun enjoyable meeting with lots of close Truck racing action and plenty of thrills and spills!

A report will be published asap and there are lots of photos to get sorted so will post them up asap too!

Keep an eye out in future Racer magazines for the full meeting report.

Well done to John Brook with the 2WD SCT Carnage title and Andy Wesson for taking the 4WD SCT Carnage Win

Bring on some more Truck racing, great fun!

Cheers,

Mark

A big thanks for a great days racing yesterday.

Does anybody have any feedback on the race format from the meeting?

Our trophy winners and some of the other drivers:
