In what way will a SCT provide you with fun that your existing cars won't?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Schumacher's main market is GB and in a way western Europe - at least not worldwide like some other brands.

As the SCs have become so popular in such a short time, it's hard to judge for a brand whether it's going to be around for another few years - aka, whether it's worth developing it. As a smaller brand you can't risk investing in the development of a car that won't be popular anymore by the time it's ready to put on the shelves of the hobby stores

That said, I haven't driven my (Kyosho Ultima) SC on a track yet, but it's a lot of fun bashing with it! It's back end is really loose (though with a less agressive driving style it goes pretty well), yet in a predictable and balanced way - it's easily the best car+kit setup for drifting I've driven so far It could be down to the mild brushless system though that I don't spin out, and the hard compound tires do help to keep the back end spinning!

I see they do the tyres..... hence my question with a little substance lol...

I will look for this conversion as i have almost a cougar in parts now, but really after a 4wd SC ideally..... there slippy enough as they are, 2wd would make them worse surely.....

I think you answered you own question? Hence the curiosity about how a buggy with a different body and tyres is going to be more fun than a buggy.

In the past I've watched people switch formula in order to 'win', or buy another car so they can get more races per club meeting. Both of these approaches increased the enjoyment they were getting out of racing so no problem there. The only worry is that it might reduce the ability of new drivers to improve as graded heats and finals disappear to be replaced by a single heat of 2WD, one of 4WD, one of 18th, one of SCT etc.

Not at all. 1 heat of SC will not effect the overall day at our club. Its only 15 mins or so added plus a couple mins inbetween........... then a final..... really in the grand scheme of things, thats not alot for the extra fun to be had.
again, this post is NOT about that. Its about why shumacher dont make a SC truck............... Please stick to the actual post questions, not a discussion about of there fun or not, if there is time for them.....

thanks muchly............ Fun is fun whatever ya racing........ and rubin.......

3 hours before you replied... You must be having a good Christmas in the shop for it to take that long

The X Factory one does look nice...for Schu...the main market for Short Course is still the US, do Schu have a big enough presence here?

LOL Dave... it was a sunday!

SC is groing everywhere, the UK included, but the massive market and alwasy will be, is the US. History has alwasy shown that it can be very hard fro a non-US brand to be a huge success in the US, even the mighty Tamiya, Kyosho and Yokomo are not "massive" out there, whereas AE and Losi dominate...

"Please stick to the actual post questions, not a discussion about of there fun or not"

Understanding why people would want one is an important element in determining the potential size of a market, and hence whether to enter.

HTH.

There was a prototype schumacher at worksop last year. Was an extended cougar.

Whether it will ever see production or not is another matter.

Purely cause it's not big enough in the UK in my view, unlike in the USA.

Why would a company change it's R&D focus to something that isn't their main market.

Americans are quite patriotic with their own brands, be nice to see short course grow in the UK though.

Surely if people went out and bought a truck then raced it regularly then every manufacturer will want a slice of cake. :P

Not on my list to spend money on. Happy to watch and accomadate them at TORCH, which I plan to do, but I won't be spending any money on them.
