Hi,
which P34 did you get ? the original version or the FRP F103 rere version? and what do you need?
I bought the rere and drove it at Wrexam last year.Biggus ditchus video-d it going round, handled like a dog on the shelf rubber tyres but as soon as i put foams on it was transformed and really sweet to drive, looks superb as well

Hey Twisty!

Yeah I got the original version not the re-re. I figured i'd never be able to afford 58001 or 58002 for now so went next best with the P34! plus i think it one of the more interesting Tamiya designs too (this is of course, very subjective). For some reason, the newer Tamiya's just don't interest me as much as the older ones

I think I have got myself a good un off ebay, most of the major parts are there and i think the remaining parts can be either found or made...

For starters, any suggestions on what motor & battery combo I should be using? The old school battery packs ( C(UM2) or battery box) look quite pony and i dont think it'd go very fast/last very long ? I will install a 580 motor into it i think and I will also probably wire it up using an esc and standard stick pack if it fits

ok so parts needed for now...

- Part K1 & P1 - links the right hand wheels to the left hand (or vica versa), quite easily found on ebay

- Park K3 x 2 - to hold the body on to the chassis - http://www.tamiyabase.com/parts/images/350/50037.jpg - i think this is the one http://www.rx7-store.com/shop/tamiya...-90000335.html

- 2 x N1 (Battery Box and relevant connector parts)

- Manual Speed Controller http://www.tamiyabase.com/parts/images/350/50010.jpg

any suggestions on where to look (no need to be rude here )

TBH this is quite a simple rc car in terms of number of parts etc, just need to start taking it apart and getting it back together..!

I'll get some pics up of it in the near future, still working on a couple of other projects, finishing of a madcap for my bro, a bigwig for myself and now this little baby!

I bought my one from Dinball ,Factory finished version,it uses the black sport tuned 540 and stock Tamiya ESC,the battery is a special short stumpy 7.2v Nicad [1700NP,part number 49171]and came with both sets of tyres, rubber for show and foams for running.
The start of the vid is on rubber[well thats my excuse]

I don`t think i can help you with any parts for yours ,with it being the original and very different under the skin,feEbay or a wanted add on Tamiyaclub might be your best chance.

I`ll have to get some better outdoor stills, the weekend is looking good.

Awesome vid - can't wait to get mine up and running.

Gonna be a while before i start it though, i got a Bigwig project on the go...

....still trying to get the paint off the inside of the bigwig body i got not long ago, the guy who had it had went a bit crazy with the paint scheme... ...just look at those badly masked lines.. sad... soo sad...

been taking it all off using the old hot water/green scourer sponge method though its almost done now. And got some new decals to finish this bad boy off all to be done boxart, the driver figure is waiting to be painted, he's sat waiting all primered up!

After i get the Bigwig up and running, then will give the Tyrrell a start. I look forward to seeing more pics of yours, I am tempted to go a bit outside of the box with the Tyrrell, maybe buy a 1/20 scale kit and see if I replicate some of the more finer details such as nuts/bolts/screws on wings and stuff onto the rc car, opinions?

on the subject of old tamiya f1's, aquired a chassis and some body remains out of a skip. have identified it as a tamiya march 782. does anybody do a body/wing for one of these??? chassis is complete and in reasonably good condition

just looked at body, persuasion of wife needed me thinks.. looking at the car it seems only to be missing the servo horn and pin for the steering and the bumper which is good. body remains with car were basically small white chunks of abs turning to powder in bag. when i picked it up it was the holiday buggy style rear bumper wire sticking out of a bag that caught my eye!

Great find but body parts are rare for the old F2`s
They are worth a few quid NIB,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=250398149596

There is a bodyset F/S on Tamiyaclub that should fit but i bet it`s not going to be cheap though,
http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp?cid=70780

Might be worth putting a wanted add.

Hey Twisty,

Can you post/send me some pics of the car without the body on? I want to see how you have mounted the motor, placed the electrics, held the battery down and also how the rear wing is mounted.

Thanks
