Default Carbon scratches

I just picked up a used Cougar SV.
The previous owner was running the car with no under tray and of course the chassis bottom is in rough shape.

Is there a way to revive the original look of the carbon fiber?

I was thinking of sanding the chassis back smooth with varying grits of wet/dry sand paper. Then a coat of some kind of high gloss spray clear.

Any tips?

Sanding back will weaken it, just put an undertray on there, spray that and then you can't see it. Otherwise, use it as an opportunity to buy the +8mm chassis.

Arrow scratches

I third that...dont sand carbon! it will weaken the weave and make it brittle...+8mm chassis is the best solution

Thanks, I will probably run it as is, yes with an under tray. I will pick up the +8mm chassis some time over the summer.
