Carbon scratches
I just picked up a used Cougar SV.
The previous owner was running the car with no under tray and of course the chassis bottom is in rough shape. Is there a way to revive the original look of the carbon fiber? I was thinking of sanding the chassis back smooth with varying grits of wet/dry sand paper. Then a coat of some kind of high gloss spray clear. Any tips? |

Sanding back will weaken it, just put an undertray on there, spray that and then you can't see it. Otherwise, use it as an opportunity to buy the +8mm chassis.

I third that...dont sand carbon! it will weaken the weave and make it brittle...+8mm chassis is the best solution

Thanks, I will probably run it as is, yes with an under tray. I will pick up the +8mm chassis some time over the summer.
