Default SHRCCC vs TORCH Interclub Championship

Sunday 11th October sees the firsts part of what will become an annual event.

SHRCCC hosts it's round of the Interclub championship with TORCH to hold their round in the New Year.

4 rounds of qualifying and finals for all. All finals then have their 1st place awarded 5 points, 2nd gets 3 and 3rd gets 1. These points get totalled for the clubs. A similar race is run at TORCH and after the 2 days the Interclub shield is won and then cups for the top drivers.

In other words the winner of the D final is as important as the winner of the A final.

So come out and represent your club

Oh and a certain Mr R Warren is under the impression that TORCH will win this. Don't worry. We will be supplying medication for his delusional behaviour

See you Sunday.
Chris

2 days since a great day out at Surrey & Hants and not much in the way of comments about how it went etc! Did everyone who attended just vanish? Have I missed something?

It was a very close day when it came down to the finals - I'll try and write it out here. Each final got points towards the event being run over 2 heats. 5 points for 1st place in a(ny) final, 3 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd.

4WD A final - 5pts for SHRCCC, 4 for TORCH

4WD B final - 1pts for SHRCCC, 8 for TORCH

2WD A final - 1pts for SHRCCC, 8 for TORCH

2WD B final - 9pts for SHRCCC, 0 for TORCH

2WD C final - 4pts for SHRCCC, 5 for TORCH

Juniors final - 8 pts for SHRCCC, 1 for TORCH

Giving an overall total of:

SHRCCC - 28pts TORCH - 26 pts

with the 2nd of the 2 rounds to be at TORCH in the New Year

No probs Rob

When I was doing the commentary I was trying to keep a mental tally of the points and failing miserably so before I tott'ed them up I was expected TORCH to be 6 or 8 points club of us.

It was obviously closer than that and each round had one result then a reflected result for the other club. Nerve racking stuff.

Looking forward to the return leg at your place

Points breakdown from today:
2wd C final: 1pt for TORCH, 8pts for SHRCCC
2wd B final: 1pt for TORCH, 8pts for SHRCCC
2wd A final: 9 pts for TORCH, 0pts for SHRCCC
4wd B final: 8 pts for TORCH, 1 pt for SHRCCC
Which left it as both clubs on 45pts each going into the final race, which was;
4wd A final: 6pts for TORCH, 3pts for SHRCCC
RESULT 51 pts for TORCH, 48pts for SHRCCC

What a day, weather awesome, racing awesome, shrccc didn't win, not so awesome hehe.

There was some great racing out there yesterday. Highlights for me was leading till the last lap in the A final only to roll it and let Phil through. Coming up to the corner table top before the line Matt Perry says to me " I'll just stay behind you" I was somewhat over cautious and broke to much before coming down the other side where Matt didn't. I'll I heard from Matt was a high pitched "ooohaah" lol

Best move of the weekend was Matt Perry's last lunge to secure second in the 4wd A over the final tabletop and taking second place by .1 of a second, Top work!

Thanks everyone for a really fun day, looking forward to the summer series.
