Default Oils/Grease/Cleaners

Hi All,

I am about to make the plunge back into Off Road after 20 years away. (2WD mainly to start again as more popular)

What Oils/Fluids/Greases do you use now?

I have noticed that all the shock oils have changed (use to use 20 to 45wt)

Geared diffs were not used then either, so have no idea what to use in these.

I am trying to get a list of everything that I can buy it all in one hit - Car, Radio, ESC, Servo, Motors, Cells, Charger, Tyres, and Spares (Lucky shop owner - Unhappy Bank Account )

Many thanks

Matt.

It all depends on what car you have and what track surface you intend on racing on. It's probably worth checking with the guys at your local club and seeing what the general consensus is.

If its KF1/2, then generally you'll run about 400-450 CST front and 300-400 rear, depending on surface. Thats like 30-45wt.

Gear diff wise, the average seems to be around 10,000 CST, some lower, some higher. If its a slippery surface, most opt for a ball diff.

I tend to use CoreRC oils.
