Default New 1/12 Carpet Oval Club starting in South Yorkshire

Just a quick note to get the word out.
I'm starting up a carpet oval racing club in the Sheffield/Rotherham area.

So if you have a Mardave that's gathering dust then clean it off and come racing.

All ages and abilities welcome.
However you will need your own personal transponder.

We'll be racing Stock Cars and Bangers to start with. Other classes if numbers and interest grows.

details on the website: WWW.SYMORC.CO.UK
The site will be updated and improved over time, its my first one so bear with me...I'm learning as I go.

First meeting to be announced very soon!!!

Gary

Hi Gary,

I'm new to the modern scene of rc racing having had inexcess of 2 decades off. I used to race 1/12 oval stock cars at claycross back in the day. i think i had an electrocar with the alloy chassis and iron front bumper but used to race with the mardaves (who where a little fragile in comparion).

I have just bought a supastox for indoor circuit racing down at c.a.r.s in chesterfield but still have a soft spot for the oval cars ( I will have to rake thru my dads loft for a bit of nostalgia).

Your prospective race venue is literally a Mile away from me so work permitting if I can help feel free to message me.

Regards matt

hey gary,

something to consider as well with bangers are the 2 different set of rules that are out there, "london rules" which is manual speedo only and top plate must not go past the steering servo which if i am correct is what the brca are running to and then there is everything else rules which allows esc and has no size limit on top plate, other than that sounds good be good to have a oval track up north
