Default New gearbox for 210 and other options

Hi

TD are as informative as always when describing the new option parts. Can anyone shed some light on these issues?

1. What is the benefit of the new gearbox? Are there any other changes besides the extra mounting hole for the camber link?

2. What other type B parts do you need to use it in MM installation?

3. What is the deal with the new silicone o-rings what do the different versions aim to achieve?

Hi,

The new type B gearbox does not require anything else to fit it straight onto the currant DEX210 cars.

It has now got 2 camber link positions making setup changes very easy and quick and has also had that area strengthened.

The lower part of the roll bar mount is also now part of the gear box housing.

In addition to what Jason mentioned - though I admit I'm just speculating here: As some people used to have trouble with the gear diff not fitting in the casing, I think they may also have adressed that too.

All Type B parts I believe will be for the DEX210V2. The gear casing should fit the 210 without buying any other of the Type B parts. The Moulded Tub requires more other parts to make a complete conversion - I haven't looked into it entirely, but you'll at least need other suspension hangers and a different bumper in RM.

The silicone O-rings I'd say are different grades of rubber, they should allow different friction (and sealing) levels for the shocks. The 3mm ones will fit in the 1/10th scale shocks, the 4mm ones I guess are 1/8th scale?

Thanks for the replies

I was wondering about the interface of the gear casing since there is also a type b brace kit, but maybe that is just an update of the rear bumper that is also included in the same parts tree?

Regarding the o-rings I understood that they were different but what I would like to know is what the purpose of the different hardness versions is. How do they compare to stock? Less friction? More sealing? Less sealing but with less friction ? Etc. Etc.

For RM setups the type B chassis braces in #TD320269 and #TD320270 have been redesigned to allow for removal of the top brace independant to the lower brace and also allows for easier transmission case removal. The lower brace doesn't hold down the transmission case and the screw joining the upper and lower braces mounts from the top.
The type B MM bumper is also included in #TD320269, pic below.

Or if they'll release the +11 aluminium chassis the team lad's are using instead of that DIMEC crap, as much as I do like being able to cherry pick the updates that are of any use I do think Durango are missing a trick by not announcing a new car. Surely supporting an updatable mk1 and releasing the complete deal mk2 makes sense. I Emailed about the O ring's but had no reply I'm sure which ever grade you choose nothing will leak like the originals.

The O-Rings come in 3 different grades.
30Shore (Blue)
40Shore (Purple)
50Shore (Clear)
Softer should have more resistance but a better seal vs harder less friction and not as good of a seal.

For a low friction setup, you probably want a S50 acting as the outer seal, and a softer one S40 in the inner shock body to create a better seal.
Keep in mind, the better the seal, the less you need to refill and maintain your shock. Low friction seals need a top up after a few heats, but offer the best in suspension performance. Different combinations for different applications.

That is correct 3mm for 10th and 4mm for 8th.

"Yes!" Do a search on Google and you will see:

Team Durango Chassis Upgrade Combo

Listed below on Google is what comes up:

Team Durango Chassis Upgrade Combo Type B DIMEC20 DESC210R TDRZ2030
Team Durango Chassis Upgrade Combo Type B DIMEC DESC210 RTR TDRZ2003

Team Durango Chassis Upgrade Combo Type B DIMEC DEX210 RTR TDRZ2001
*I couldn't find the Dimec20 combo for the DEX210.

Team Durango Chassis Upgrade Combo Type B DIMEC DEST210 RTR TDRZ2002
Team Durango Chassis Upgrade Combo Type B DIMEC20 DEST210R TDRZ2020

I didn't post the actual links. Not sure if the forum wants people to start linking all over the place. So google it.

I don't know whats the package consist of. But I would safe to assume its the chassis, motor protector (type b), and the updates suspension holders (type b). Maybe the side and rear braces in type b cause the parts are already out on the website?

Look pretty good

What's the advantage of having a smaller hex size? Smoother action?
Also I have fitted the new shock o-rings (went for the blue soft ones) and they are very smooth, just need to see how well they seal now.

I think the holes in the new turnbuckles look smaller. Probably too small for a 2,5mm hex.

smaller hex size is to give more strength... as happened to me the old ones were prone to split were there was not enough metal in the corners of the hex,so there 2mm instead of 2.5mm
