thanks bill. My x6 still has the wheely problem.. For what ever reason i lost a second a lap this week.. I am going back to a non boosted profile on my speed passion. Who would think that these 13.5 could be so powerfull. I like to pull full trigger so ill need to detune the power plant! LOL

Cougar in the house hope to have it rolling for wed nite...

I'm going to try to make it for a race also in the next couple of weeks also, I'll show you the mods that factory driver Tom Cockrill advised that work awsome on the car. I don't run any front weight on my car, I have plenty of traction stock, but some guys in europe put 21 grams right under the servo to keep the front end down. You can either put 3 bars of lead or there is a company named trishbits that makes a nice brass weight just for that purpose. The owner goes by the moniker trish on the forum. Have fun with the cougar, I'm sure you'll love it.

By the way, the turbo isn't needed with the speed passions esc, it's really smooth stock. I could check how I have it set and send it to you, I know I dialed a little more drag break and timming don't remember the exact values.

Have fun,
Bill

Hi Tom,

Do you have any setup for very high grip indoor carpet ? A little less grip than Petit 2011.. but not much less

Thanks.

Greetings from Portugal.

have you tried putting some negative throttle curve on your transmitter it could help with the wheely problem as it might have to much power at the bottom end

Ran the cougar for the first time last nite. IT was a dream, it did everything very well. And my wheely issues are no longer. I think a milder ESC boost profile and a slight slip on the slipper helped.

I must say Team Schumy looked pretty hooked up last night. I also must say you just cost me a bundle since I ordered up a couple for myself I hope they work as good as they look.
PS what set up?
Do I need springs, Swaybars?

I am looking at getting back into off-road this season having spent about the last eight years with the tarmac boys... the track that I will be racing at is basically half an 8th scale track and is a mixture of grass and hard dirt were the grass has worn away.

Do any of the setups on the Schumacher site fit in with this description or could someone point me in the direction of a starting setup especially tyres/inserts.

Appreciated...

Personally I start with about 21-23mm front and rear.

Carpet question... On tight indoor tracks do you guys typically reduce motor, or ESC profiles or do you play with the slipper to control wheelies? Our indoor track switched from Dirt to Carpet and lost a bit of straight, so its fairly small. About a 15second lap...

The biggest thing i noticed with the switch over is where i used to run almost full boost on dirt i find im turning it off to keep the nose of the car down. With so much rear grip the cars push...

I know too much power is a good problem to have Never thought that we would be turning down 13.5 motors to go faster.

Bill i will try the neg throttle curve tonight..... So far i tossed a bigger pinion at the motor and reduced the boost to off.. Damn 2year old Losi motor still has rip, im sure not great for onroad but for buggy its been amazing.. Do brushless ever die? LOL

I'm running a 6.5 speed passions in the car and I can't lift the front...your doing it wit a 13.5...wow. leave the negative throttle alone, I tried it and made the car hard to control in the turns.

Whats your setup like?

check your ride height first, I run with the drive shafts slightly lower than level, then level the chassis to the front.

What spur are you running. Play with the slipper first and if that doesn't work add the weight. And if all else fails install the +8 mm chassis...makes the care easier to drive.

im going to run a new setup tonight, i tried another cougar last week and his powerband was way down but it was very fast, With such a tight layout there is not much trigger time so you have to baby the throttle input or you wheelie past the apex. Last week i had to play with about 1/4 throttle or i would push..

You need to come up again and try it out. ITs very fun but its amazing how little power is needed to go fast..

Reg,

Not sure who your question is to but for me I didn't change the setup when going +8. It just calms the car down making it easier to drive, it has had a huge effect on my results as I'm making far fewer mistakes.

James.
