Gear diffs are a good option and stock up on some front arms

Inside line do nice carbon towers and battery strap if you wish

It's pretty good out the box tbh, a future upgrade could be the thicker chassis as used at the worlds, lets you move the motor forwards/backwards but again not an essential upgrade

Hi, I have just started using my ZX6 again - this time outdoors on Astro.
I would recommend you get the following bits:
- Rudebits Spine weight
- 1.7mm 2 hole pistons for the rear shocks
- Orange front springs, the gold ones in the kit seam to work okay for the rear of the car but you defo need harder ones at the front.
That is about it for I guess essential good running, I have several other upgrades on my car like alloy rear hubs, gear diffs and exotek bits here & there….
Really great car and it has so much potential - enjoy it.
I don’t think we will see a ZX7 until next year, so its still very much a current car.

For our tracks Bri I wouldn't worry at the moment with most of the tweaks you can do, the car will handle very well out the box with kit setup as everyone here agrees.

Rudebits spine weight is a good idea but I know you could make one easily enough copying the pattern of the plastic part that it replaces in the kit.

Thicker roll bar kit could be a good idea though.

I wouldn't worry about gear diffs straight away, see how you get on with the ball diffs and if you decide you want the car more aggressive then look then. Same with HD chassis and other bits.

Good starting point for club setup wise is 1.6 pistons associated red front springs, 35wt losi oil and 1.7 27.5wt losi rear with kit springs.

Hope the car finally brings you steering you've been craving!

As said already it's a great car out of the box. RB6 rear arms and the thick roll bar kit are worth considering, pistons wise a lot of guys have found better results with 3 hole rather than 2 hole. Gear diffs are expensive but a nice to have, especially if you don't like rebuilding ball diffs. Worth looking on the facebook page for more info:
