Charlie,
I'm as keen as anyone for the indoor finals (booked in and paid G a month ago ) so I'm hoping this can be resolved. However will there be a cutoff date when a decision is made if the event is to go ahead? A week before say?

Hi Dan.
Graham is away on holiday so entries may be stacking up on his doormat hence the wait until Monday before any decision is made. If there is no change in the entry level the York guys are considering a one day event on the Sunday with both classes running on the same day. This may be a good fallback position but the decision will be made either way on Monday. Regards. |

Hi David.
As this is a club financed event I dont know the answer to your question but things didn't look favourable to local officials at the current level of entries. Regards |

Would be a big shame not to run the event as its normally the last indoor big event before the outdoor starts. Im sure everything is being done to get as many entries as possible.

The trouble is with the Players this weekend and the IF then so close behind, have the two meetings not affected each other???
I think it is safe to say that the Worksop lads are not thrilled at the entry that they have recieved so far (I understand that it has picked up in the last few days with the change of plans etc) but I got the distinct impression when they first spoke to us about it that if 180 racers rolled up just for a sunday then they were expecting even more for a "bigger" meeting, which has not been the case. Then of course the Finals are on at York straight after and then is two "large" "all weekend meetings" so close just a bit too much for everyone to handle especially in the tough times that many people are experiencing financially at the moment. There is of course only so much time of work etc people can book off. The finals have always been at the end of the traditional indoor season (March/early April) maybe "IF" we are are to have these BIG one off style meetings we should try to locate them either around the time that the Petit took place (January - which was fairly well attended) or even "kick off" the winter season with a"biggie" in October time each year??? Just my thoughts......
