Default Cat SXII gone 2WD?!

Hi all,

Just back from a quick practice and my Cat was starting to go into 2WD (rear only) at times. It seems to rectify itself if I manually jiggle/rotate the front belt pulley.

I have a one way pulley fitted and was wondering if it has broken (can that even happen?) and is now not supplying power either backwards or front?

Any ideas or experience with this before?

As always, thanks for the advice!

The one way bearing may be shot or, more likely, just dirty.

Take off the pulley, spray the bearing with motor cleaner, blow off if you can otherwise allow to dry, then re-lube and re-fit.

Specialist one way lubes are available but you can just use a very light oil.

Cheers mate, will do.
Was worried about wrecking the bearing if I sprayed motor cleaner into it.

Will give it a shot this afternoon.
Thanks!

Check the front lay-shaft for wear, if there is a dip under where the one-way sits change the lay shaft and the bearing should be ok.

It is possible for the bearing to come away from the pulley. It's not a common thing, but I have seen it happen a couple of times.

I had the bearing come away from the pulley three times!
Schumacher did replace the knackered ones each time which was ok, but really shouldn't have happened in first place.
