i have the kit 6 holes pistons in the rear with 400cst oil with the kit 2.5 spring but this feels to soft i bottoms out if the rear end in droped from a 5 to 6 inches

Ive been running 3hole drilled to 1.6mm with 350cst.
Toms running 5x1.3mm these need to be drilled as the standard 5 hole are 1.5mm

Gone to 4 hole, playing with 30 and 35wt on kit springs, feels lots better.

Try 3 hole pistons front and rear, open the piston hole out to 1.65mm for the rear, 35WT in the front and 27.5WT in the rear and kit springs.

A quick option is to run the top shock mount in the outboard hole on the rear.

I visited the Schumacher factory recently and spoke to Tom about this very thing. My conclusion after the chat was to move the shocks to the forward position and run the following.........

Rear = 4 holes - 350CST - 2.0 springs
Front = 4 holes - 350CST - 3.5 springs

This seems to work for me. To mount the rear shocks in the forward position you just need to use an SV shock tower instead of the SV2 one.

What is the bennefit of running it forward not rear.

I found that unless on a really bumpy track the car is more stable with better corner exit speed when the shocks are in the forward position.

I run mainly indoors and have tried the shocks both forward and rear and running them forward I found it much better. It is a simple change over as already said just use the old SV shock tower. Not tried it outdoors yet but guess they will be better off on the rear for outdoors?

Ill be running 450wt, 3 hole standard pistons on 3.5 springs on the front and 350wt, 3 hole 1.6mm on 2.5 springs on the rear for tomorrows National. Pretty much my base setup over the winter.

so does running the shocks forward take away rear end grip? or what is the main reason why this is done.

According to a major Schumacher employee, running the shocks forward will give you a more twitchy car, rearwards will feel more planted.

I had mine on the front for the last few club nights (on carpet) but last night stuck them on the back to give it a try, and was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It was by far the best the car has gone since I built it.
