Non-marking tyres for wooden floors??
I'm looking at hiring a sports hall to run some drifting tracks... The only problem I can see is that I have a wooden floor.
I need some tyres which won't mark the floor, I assume the standard tamiya racing tyres will mark! Can anyone recommend some tyres I can buy either shop or eBay links would be great |

Schumacher Minipins are the standard tyre for wooden floors, they come in Two compounds and from past experience they don't mark the floor

I've dug grooves on floors with Schumacher minipins before:
In my experience they can be harsh on floors, including carpet tracks. |

The picture above of the grooves is from an Off Road Schumacher mini-pin, which will dig when they are spun up. We have run the 21mm yellow Touring car mini pins on wood floors for years with no problems.

If you don't want to mark a hard floor, tire compounds need to be hard, the harder the better.
Soft compounds grip because they stick to the floor. Unfortunately, when you exceed the grip you then mark the floor when the tire slides. A hard compound with tread (ie, mini pins r rally blocks) will give some grip as you get a small contact area and they can bite through any dust on the floor surface. I don't think you will ever get high grip levels this way, but racing will definitely be fun! James

i no this is a little different, but we run yellow mini spikes on our buggys on polished floor no bother, I've seen people with silvers and greens still no bother, the tyre works best just before it becomes slick and when the racing line has cut through the dust!
