Thanks Si, It was an excellent day, very succesfull. Once I get a final total I'll definitely let you know but at the moment believe it or not were at about £9100 raised for this one day event. I am amazed at that sort of figure and never thought we would be looking at anything near that.
Can I thank everyone who has helped to organize, setup and tidy up the track, and everyone who turned up to race and make the day as good as it was. I really enjoyed it and only wish we could do this kind of thing more often. It really seemed to attract lots of attention from the folk at the fundraiser too. A good thing for RC.
Thanks. Col.
P.S. anyone with pics of today, please post some up here.

your pics are awesome . The best one being the bottom one showing all the racers who enjoyed a great days racing & a great charity event.

Just want to say as colin already has, a big thanks to everyone who helped this race meeting be as great as it was. Special thanks to Mikey & Biggs as well as those who helped get the gear back too the hall. Think we managed it just under 2hrs which for the amount of gear & distance was an awesome achievement

Thanks Dasbo, much appreciated, I'll add it to the final total once we work out what it is. It was a really good days racing, I think everyone enjoyed it. Glad to be back at work for a rest now!
Give my thanks to all the Stonehaven club racers who contributed to the donation, it is a very kind gesture. Cheers.

Think this was the best meeting of the year so far.

One thing I liked seeing was people trying different things with tyres. Seen people running Ballistic Buggy Mini Spikes, dBoots multibytes, Schumacher Mini Pins, Schumacher Mini Spikes and I tried a set of Fastrax Truf Rippers on my 2wd. Now my choice of tyre in 2wd may not have been the fastest way around the track but they were good enough. All the tyres are "commercially available". I think it would be good if we could use any of the above tyres at SORC meetings or at least some of them next year.

Would be nice if all meetings could be run like this one, relaxed, fun with a stack of cash for a good cause to boot!

Sounds like everyone had fun for a good cause.

It reminds me of the old Falkirk Open, where it was held i have no idea, but it was on an old bowling green.

It was a non championship round and was the best atmosphere by far.

It also attracted big crowds as the park had lots of other things on.

Now, what was cool was that each year a rather sizeable trophy was given out each year, engraved and then handed back. I happened to win in the last yr it was run in 92 and there was no one to give the trophy to. I still have it.

Thought it might be cool to donate it if you guys thought about running it annually and it could be the new Falkirk Open

Just thinking out loud.

Cheers

That was before my time I started racing 94-95ish. A meeting like that sounds good to me.
