There's a pretty big clue who's going to be making the control tyre in the video, notice anyone familiar standing in the middle of the track besides the RHR crew?...

I see my car's been round the track James

I'm glad to hear it'll be single tire, it's absolutely doing my head in having to have so many bloody types here in the states!

Blown away by this news. Really excited to be able to run there, and massive respect to James and the RHR team for making this happen.

Our clay is on top of the existing very sandy ground, we have tested every month through the winter so if we can do that the summer will be no problem, some parts of the clay are nearly 5 feet above the existing ground level hence any water runs off and drains away - plus we have have our massive track cover like Vaasa had, showers are no problem at all, its cloudbursts or sudden very heavy (proper rain!) showers that would be the problem but they cause issues on every surface.. Besides if there is some sort of weather catastrophe all we need do is walk 40 feet to the astro track hah!

Good idea! this will have to be considered by the YORCC committee..

That announcement will be made in due course, it will be one tyre so its fairer and cheaper for everyone..
I think TEMAC's surface went wrong at the Reedy race (Worlds warm up) when they piled on hundreds of tonnes of limestone to help dry the circuit which stopped it being pure clay.

I think a bit of water makes it more grippy? It's when there's a LOT of water you need to worry. But that's what the covers are for

I think the track is better when its a little damp.. Its tacky and very grippy.. We still haven't finished rolling it yet so when we've done that and its mega hard packed and totally smooth and dry it may be grippier still, particularly if we get warm weather and it grooves up..

Does look awesome will enjoy racing on this, but kinda disappointed that its going to be control tyre for all meetings as i run louise tyres on my 1/10th on dirt tracks and contracted to run these.

Doesn't leave much option for companies to start selling more dirt tyres in the uk
