Default Lee Martin wins Eden Park 2WD national

The third round of the 2012 BRCA 10th off road national series is taking place this weekend at Eden Park Raceway in London, England. After Ellis Stafford took the opening round of qualifying with his XFactory X6 car it was all about Lee Martin and his Tamiya-VEGA 2WD buggy, as he went on to take rounds 3,4 & 5 to line up first on the grid for the three-leg finals.

Winning the first two legs with ease - Lee won the meeting before an eventful third leg saw Paul Bradby take the win for 3rd overall. Darren Bloomfield finished second overall with a couple of 2nd place finishes in legs 1 and 2.

Full report, videos and photo gallery will be online soon.

What ever he won whit a convertion if Lee had a Losi 22 then i would say its a stock drive.

I dont get this convertion you buy a stock car that will cost you 300$ than to be compétitif you have to buy a convertion that will cost you a nother 200$

Losi 22 out of the box 300$

Den.

Perhaps you don't race on many high grip surfaces?

I agree that it is an expensive way to do it but I think the idea is that you would have the rear motored car already. I really don't think you can compare a Losi 22 to the Tamiya vega 201. The quality between the two is night and day.

Just my opinion tho......

I'm not sure i understand what you mean by the quality is night and day, Tamiya has always been good at it's plastics.

And that there should be an idea that you have to already own the rear motored car, that's just another way of earning extra money, because both the TLR 22 and the TD DEX210 will stock out of box let you choose witch to build, rear or mid motor, so there is no need to go and buy 2 kits, just to get 1 car.

I had a Losi XXX, bought the 22, found it to forgiving, so got the DEX210, and that is such a different car, but anyway. congrats to Lee !

What I mean is that Tamiya kits (expensive as they are) are far better quality than Losi kits. In fact, all the Japanese kits are superb quality but like I said, that's just my opinion.

When mid-motor kits first came out the idea was to turn your rear-motored car to that configuration so you didn't always have to fork out for for two cars. People already had the donor car.

If someone wants to buy two brand new kits (me) that is entirely up to them. Tho I agree, it can be an expensive process.

Dave

Just to add the conversions for 2wds out there are good because they are designed/built with out the compramises of rear or mid motor option.

The Vega range of conversions are all ace and the quality of machining is amazing.
