Random thought, 400 people applying for the Invernational? Simples, 3 days of qually, running Reedy style 24hrs a day, based at a hotel, a days rest, then bump-up finals.

Yes, I'm crackers.

We did consider this actually but the UK weather sadly has a part to play. if it rains a lot then the dirt simply cannot be used so the Astro is a backup. If we had a roof on the dirt track then for sure we could guarantee it and do this!

Hupo suggested this - he called it the ultimate Reedy race; astro for the Europeans and Dirt for the USA, both raced on within the same meeting, would be tough but make it a slightly more level playing field to determine an uber champion!

Would be an epic event, but that would take some organisation!

You could probably squeeze more drivers in if you could floodlight track(s) for the weekend and run qualifying heat on friday night and later into Saturday evening?

Is there anything that could be hired to cover the track that doesn't have poles int middle? I imagine it would cost 10k for the weekend or something mind you.

I priced up a free span structure to cover the track and rostrum and extended area for 10 days, for instance I am really keen that one day maybe we could hold a euros so was looking into the feasibility of covering the track for the event, cost for the hire was £70,000. You could do it with a structure with poles for prob £20,000. I have bought a much better cover this year though, so now in terms of track rain protection we're on a par with what Vaasa had for the worlds.

Sorry have to disagree again mate - STCC, EWS all as competitive as a national and not everyone at the top end is changing rotors or motors after 2 meetings.
