Default Building a DEX210

I'm about to buy a DEX210 and I need to clear up some stuff,
so I can buy the right stuff.

If I want to run the Cut Stagger or Minipin in front with the stock Durango wheels, without cutting or modifing anything do I buy the slim or regular front tires? Or maybe somebody could help me with the product codes for yellow compund?

Also which tools I need? I have 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3mm wrenches already.
What kind of greases I should buy for building the diff?

Both tyres will fit on the rim without modifing just looks weird with the slim but works, i think most use slim for cut stagger, i just cut the rim.

you'll need 0.050 imperial allen driver

greases for the diff come in the kit i think

The only grease you need is the geargreas. The other 2 are included in the kit.
You also need shockoil. 450cst is the manual setup.

Any ideas how to get the circlip out?
I have tools to get it, but they are too lousy to get it out.
And could someone recommend me a good pair of circlip pliers?

File down a cheap set of pliers from the $1 shop or something. That what I did and works well

I use black grease in the diff but others have used BG/2K/5K its up to you what you like.

What other oils, well have a look at petitrc and find a your track or something similar to get that set up sheet and go from there, OR do stock setup and do your own testing.

Only put the black grease on your thrust washers and balls.
Only use silicon diff lube on your diff balls don't put the black grease anywhere near your diff balls

It'll be a ball diff. Ignore this bit!

Shock oils around the 300-450 range seem to be "preferred" for the 210.

Any ideas why the suspension doesnt fully compress when the diff outdrives are like - not like I on a brand new car?

Jannk, do you mean when the suspension is compressed the dog bones rub on the diff nut? If so, did you compress the diff spring with pliers a few times before fitting? I had a similar issue and it took compressing the spring with pliers, plus a few runs before the diff ran in, and the spring wore in, before the diff nut sat lower in the diff housing and gave more clearance.

Yeah, you almost got it right.
When the outdrive outputs are vertical then the suspension can move freely up.
When the oudrive outputs are horizontal then the suspension cant move as high up due to the dogbone not moving enough in the outdrive. The wierd thing it happens on the both sides, not only the nut side.
I did compress the spring and gave it a brief run on a drill but thats about it with the break in.

would recommend getting the gear diff, i had the same problem with the ball diff and then with the gear diff there was no rubbing either side with full compression and its a lot easier to maintain and set up.

Sorry only silicon diff lube on the ball diff, the other stuff in the gear diff.

With the shocks do you have the bump stop on?
When you put the spring retainer and everything on do you still get the same problem?

Here's a video to demonstrate. As you can see when i roll the car and the suspension is fully compressed the car bumps up and down due to the driveshafts not moving enough. The problem is still there with the shocks on.
I'm cool with gear diff on carpet, but I would like to still get things work with the ball diff so I can use it on more low-grip surfaces.

Ok so does the drive shafts out of the diff rotate at all angles at the wheel end?
You might have the drive shaft brushings/pins in wrong

Any ideas how high esc can fit under the stock body?
Mine's 32.5mm and I'm a little afraid it might not fit.
Maybe should try the cab forward body as they're only 6£ a pop at the moment?
