I'm very interested in seeing what JQ come up with for an electric 1/10th buggy. I read a column he wrote some time ago about what he felt was wrong with electric buggies, and his main criticism was that they didnt have a centre differential like their 1/8th counterparts.

Considering that run time and power isnt an issue anymore, I'd be very keen on a 1/10th buggy that had a third diff like many of them had way back in the beginning. The new X-ray buggy promised so much but in the end it's been rather predictable. JQ could stir things up properly

I'm assuming these are blue groove conditions? I haven't seen a 4WD go this quick around my club's track

Anyway, I like it that brands are taking interest in the buggy scene, and it would be good to see what JQ can do with 1/10... And with slightly upscaled cars using centre diffs (DESC410, 1/8) it would be interesting to see if JQ is right that it is (one of the things) that leaves to be desired on 1/10s.

It's an interesting read.

Little birds or a tall crow ?

I think I ll get one no matter what it will look like.. sooo many new cars in 4wd now but I always wanted the car and didnt buy it because of the races here.

JQ used the kyosho a long time and I am sure this car will be great.
Anyway JQ is one of the very few guys who really tested all cars and know which is good and why

edit: watched the 4wd vid.... white wheels .. hope its better inside

ive heard of the JQ 1/10th scale in development or 'in the pipe line' from the proline international at the end of august but when i mentioned it to a few other drivers their response was that it wouldnt be allowed to have 3 diffs in a 1/10th scale due to rules etc...

I havent looked into this any but does anyone know off the top of their head if this is correct?

I have never seen a rule about that myself... I am quite sure there was no such rule at the worlds, either.

I certainly hope that isnt true. Electric 4wd's have always been allowed a centre differential previously, with several cars being released with them. I personally dont see any reason why they would now be outlawed, doesnt make much sense

Still very far from its release.

Kyosho shocks+ 90 percent of the components are in its prototype stage.

Doubt it will have 3 diffs due to the rules.

AFAIK there is no rule against 3 diffs.

JQ said he hopes to release it within a year, so prototype parts are not that alarming

Time to start guessing the chassis layout?

the under chassis shot i think is quite revealing.

Examine the screw hole locations and determine what screws to each one, most of the holes are symmetrical left to right, except for a few in the top right hand corner of the pic.

Just a guess, but just from that i am thinking thats where the motor mount is, and the motor is at the back of the car, like the earlier Lazers when they still used stick packs.

It also appears like there's esc wires in the top left of the pic at the edge of the chassis, so are we seeing a scaled down version of a 1/8th e-buggy on that side, ie: esc at the back and stick pack in front.

edit: on second thought, 2 screws on the left hand side of the pic look liek they are for a standard stick pack battery brace, so i'm guessing the lipo is just at the back of the car on that side

One to two years ago, the proto had stick pack on the left, right side: motor on the front (kyosho style), servo upright like a 1/8 behind the motor, very long (about 7-10cm) steering link, ESC behind the servo and receiver some where there also.
