Default Losi Xcelorin Software

V2 firmware and software is now up on the Losi website.

http://www.losi.com/Support/XcelorinDownloads.aspx

Install procedure:

Download V2 of software + the firmware
Install programme (if you have AVG disable real time scanning)
Plug in USB adaptor, it should install itself
UNPLUG batteries!
Open programme
Make sure both lights are green in the programme
Click update firmware
Locate file, if you cant find it put *.lsc in and it should pop up
Let programme update speedo
Click commands and then reset to factory defaults
Now click read settings
Now setup as you want

My setup:

Forward no reverse
Throttle Limit: 0%
Reverse limit: 100%
Motor Timing: Normal
Initial Acc: Medium
Braking %: 30%
Drag brake: 12%
Deadband: 3

Thanks for the info (& thanks for the response to my other post re not needing the fan in 2wd). I've read a few posts on here from guys saying that downloading firmware has knackered their Xcelorin speedos, so having not even used mine yet I'm a bit reluctant to do it!! Should I be concerned?

I don't see why you should be concerned, all of my speedos were upgraded today and all took the new firmware with no issues. The software is now a new programme, V2, and should be a lot better. When plugging in the speedo make sure the software says the ESC is connected and if you are concerned just keep an eye on it for a couple of mins and make sure it doesn't drop out before you d the upgrade, ive not that ive had that problem though.
I used the new software today in 2wd and it makes the speedo feel much nicer and has sorted out any of my previous issues.

I have tried but failed the software is in my documents but when I try to install it my computer blocks the install so I cant update firmware if that makes sence. I think it is my anti virus from AVG but I cant turn it off so I will keep it as it is unless one of you computer people can help cheers.

Spen.

You cant install the programme or the firmware? You upgrade the firmware from inside the programme.

Sorry Ian I am computer iliterate I downloaded the program from the Losi websit which went into my docs as an icon. When I click on update firmware on the losi program and type the file name it is not there (D01012806.LSC) I think that it need installing from my docs it starts installing from the wizzard but my antivirus flashes up and stops it loading. I have uninstalled the old program as it says the new program is there as when I clickon about it is all there as it is supposed to be.

No - it was a real problem that happened to an experienced racer, I started racing in 1978!
I would not post if it was not a genuine occurance, the fact that it also happened to another user at my club, totally independently, gave me reason to post.

Just downloaded the new software and the new firmware, will try the new firmware upload during the week and if everything goes OK will post to that fact

the dec 08 one. You need the software and firmware. The CD in the box is only to install the usb adaptor, do NOT install the software on the CD.

You just need to double click the firmware file.

I think you will have to temporary disable avg to get it to install. You can do this by opening the AVG user interface and double clicking the resident shield option and then unchecking the 'Resident Shield active' box. Then click save.

Install the software and then follow the above and ensure the tick is put back in the box for the 'resident shield active'.

I usually only do this if I've disconnected from the internet first.

If you have a laptop get someone to install it on there?
If only a computer after setup it can be generically setup with base settings.

To be honest I don't change my settings at all now they have been the same since Southport National, 2 weeks after I changed over to it.

Well uploaded the new firmware with no problems today
So I thoroughly recommend everyone to download version 2 of the computer software, as this seems to have fixed the firmware update problem that happened with version 1

Hi guys,

Just read through the instructions from the Losi website. As I understand:

Remove Setup v1
Download Setup v2 & install onto PC
Download new firmware (v2.8 Dec 08)
Click "update Firmware" in the Xcelorin setup programme & select the appropriate file.

Is that right?

When I try to install Setup v2 onto my PC I get some error messages saying that there is a problem copying some files:
mfc42.dll
CP210xManufacturing.dll
Losi.exe

Unless I select "Ignore" to these error messages I can't get the new Setup v2 to install.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
