Default New Kyosho mid car @ Silverstone today....

Below are some teaser pics of the prototype Kyosho mid car from Vega..... Full machined alloy chassis, gearbox and motor mount..

Conversion kit is for an SP2, NO other parts from any cars are needed.. There will be 2 of these in action next week @ the Petit RC race...

Looks great, but also looks like an aluminium S2 to me

The only area that may look like an S2 is the fact it's narrow!!

Having owned an S2 i can tell you it is nothing like one.... it is very much one of the best looking mid cars i have run. Cars will be at Petit, so come have a look.

They are just proto towers, the carbon versions are being produced now.

Stu is right, the machining is second to none! The pictures don't do it justice.

Having run a S2 for a whole season I can tell you I can't see 1 difference (apart from the material of course). But I haven't seen the car in real-life

I'm running a TRF201 this season, so probably should stop accusing brands of copying

Most cars look very similar....

Differences:

Front end is RB5 SP2
Rear wishbones and gearbox internals are all RB5 SP2
Shocks RB5 SP2
Chassis is narrower than the S2
Car has machined alloy chassis, gearbox
Motor is further back than the S2 and most other cars
Gearbox is possibly one of the smallest you will see.

Basically apart from looking very similar as most cars do..... RB5, Ansmann, Assoc, Tamiya ?????? The car is nothing like it....

I have run an S2.. in both version's, in fact i had one of the very first after Craig Harris.

Yes of course the donor parts are a different brand and the material used is different (well, the gearbox is), I'm talking about the concept (lay-out, one piece tub chassis, shocktower and camber link mount system)

I like this prototype a lot, not meaning to criticize anything, but the concept is just very similar to the S2. If I was running a RB5 SP2 I'd buy it

I understand what you are trying to say... but the concept for all mid motor cars was out long before the s2... Most cars look the same, but don't judge a book by it's cover.

Concept's are there to be improved upon, which is what has been done here.

If anything i would compare it more to the old Durango B4's...

Indeed, it won't drive the same as the S2 did due to the different Kyosho suspension geometry and (superior) shocks.

Send me one for free and I'll have a closer look

Trust me lads I have seen the Losi XXX Cr version and the Kyosho RB5 in the flesh and they are amazing, a truly great product designed and made in the UK, this should be a really hot seller I reckon

Big up to the Vega for doing these conversions

Now to e bay to look for a XXXcr or RB5!!

my god, i can see some sleepless nights ahead for a certain person to get all these different cars developed. this is truley a fantastic piece of engineering. The one I cant wait for will be the complete new car not using any donor car parts.
