fet wire/ servo
hi there i have a schu mission with a budget servo,
but i have just bought a buggy with a ko propo servo with a blue wire coming out of it, going to the speedo, is it correct that this blue wire is called a fet, i cant beleive how quick the steering is, is this because of the fet? now the ko propo servo has snaped a lug so i need to replace it, what sort of servo should i look at replacing it with, i was also thinking about putting one in my touring car as well. cheers stu |

You can buy new cases for them cheaper than you can buy a new servo and yes it is called a fet wire.

Hiya mate, the KO servos have a good spares backup so you can get a new case if you broke a tab.
The wire is called a fet choke lead or something. it powers the fets inside the servo.. indeed, the fets used to be outside the servo in a seperate box on the early fet servos. I prefer the simplicity of the 6volt servos since these don't need an extra wire - which is just something else to get damaged and fail. It really depends how much you want to spend though, the KO servos are among the most expensive around, but they are nice. |
