It was a good day today, shame there was an unusually low turn out. a good turn out for F1's but then i assume a few were getting in some track time ready for the Stafford TORC round.

the 12th heat was extremely close, after 3 finals & a total of 140 laps for the 1st & 2nd place drivers, there were only 2 seconds between them on total time.. watching the 12th's racing was something else, it was as though the 2 lead cars were chained together, it was like watching a caravan race only the caravan was another 12th car! The only downside (or upside depending on how you look at it) was the marshals got to have a long break, i don't think a marshal went on the track for the entire heat!

It's an upside

No broken cars to repair or marshalls risking life & limb marshalling

not neccesarily.. the low turn out may be because it's a tournament type event that has taken place on a Saturday when Sunday is the traditional race day. Every time i've been there there have been a good turn out of 12th's & the last time i raced there, 20 12th scalers were booked in & there were about as many touring car drivers & that was on a regular Sunday meet.

These days a lot more people have to work on Saturday's & for those who don't work it is usually the day when dad has to go shopping with the wife & kids!

Some touring car drivers DID turn up yesterday expecting a practice, but got drafted into a heat although not included as part of the tournament.
