Default Playing with different chassis

I've been playing around with different chassis layouts lately. I can't leave anything alone. I decided to see if I could make a Dimec20 +8 chassis have the layout that I wanted. I have a couple of carbon fiber stiffeners that I am adding to this. It should be pretty neat when it's done. Here's a sneak peak of what the final layout will be.

I've seen this mod track side on some fast lads cars, can't be all bad.

It would have been such a nice option to have on the version 2, and do able as well looking at this- http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...ight=side+pods though possibly would need to remove part of the retaining lip so you could still run electrics in the side pods.

A car with as many set up options as the 210 and they miss one! Still, can't wait for my V2

I'd love to have a nice setup like that. This is how the car should have always come. I have removed walls from my chassis. I will make a new thin top plate that screws directly to the holes in the top of the dimec chassis. This is being made from Nylon6/6. There is also a very thin nylon layer going on the flat bottom of the chassis. Actually it's two pieces. There is a channel between them that allows for the motor sensor wire to pass. When it's done it'll look like it came that way. I was working on a carbon fiber chassis but when I saw that I could modify a Dimec I decided to start there.

The car feels totally planted on carpet with this layout. It would have been so easy for TD to provide this option with the V2... Anyway, I will be at the PetitRC race this coming weekend if anyone wants to have a closer look.

Did you modify the stock side pods on your car?

No, I designed new side pods in 3D to match the +11 chassis without these ridiculous extension brackets, got them CNC machined from 7075 aluminium and hard anodized. Not the cheapest solution, but cheaper than switching to Yokomo...

You should upload those models to Shapeways and then sell them through their store. I'd take a set in a heartbeart!

Default CAD of a DEX210 chassis?

Sorry for off-topic, but i wouldn't open a new thread for my question!

Does anyone have a CAD file from the aluminum chassis plate TD320125 for me?
I would like to try to make my own one, with some upgrades...

It is the V1 standard length, not the new +8 one.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thx in advance!

All being well Cobra Racing Products will have a different style chassis tested next week, once i have Cobra 210M all finished i will post up some pictures,i'm the same as you guys and felt that the 210 needed something different layout wise so all being well our chassis will give yet another option.
