Summer Championships 2012

OK, with another Championship passing, it's time to start thinking about the next one that starts on Friday 13 July.

So what tracks do we want to run this time around guys & ladies

There were some great tracks this time around, and between now and the start of Round 1, we can probably try some other new layouts if the track builders want to be creative...

Dates for the 2012 Summer Championships are:

Round 1: Friday 13 July
Round 2: Friday 20 July
Round 3: Friday 27 July
Round 4: Friday 3 August
Round 5: Friday 10 August
Round 6: Friday 17 August
Round 7: Friday 24 August
Round 8: Friday 31 August

Classes we are racing are:

1:10th Touring Cars
1:12th GT12
1:12th Mardave Club

As before, best 5 rounds count towards the overall points. Each meeting consists of 3 rounds and 1 final

will the GT12 and club class be running together again?

With so many now moving across to the GT12 Class, I think we now have enough numbers for each Class to run them separately which is what we did last Friday.

Do you prefer it that way?

A call out to members...

It made sense in the first half of the year to mix up the GT12 and Club drivers as there were not quite enough GT12 drivers to allow us to have 1 or 2 heats of them on their own. However, with so many now moving across to the GT12 class there would be enough of each class racing every Friday for us to split them up again.

What do you prefer drivers?

I don't think it matters for the qualifying rounds, in fact better if they are mixed so that there is less difference in driver abilities in each heat. Classes should definately be split for the finals though.
